Government urged to do more to address homeless crisis

The Government's being urged to come up with immediate measures to address the homeless crisis.
Labour TD Jan O'Sullivan says its long past time to use compulsory purchase orders - to buy up vacant homes to use for those in need.
The latest figures from the Department of Housing show that 278 adults were in emergency accommodation in Cork in April - that's an increase of 28% compared to April of 2016.
Cork Simon say they're unable to offer emergency shelter to everyone in need as demand has increased because service users are stuck and are unable to secure anything else.
