Government urged to do more to avoid eviction

There are calls for the Government to do more to stop banks evicting people from their homes.

Latest figures from Focus Ireland -showed 22 people slept rough in Cork on one night last week.

As temperatures continue to plummet, concern is growing for those unable to find shelter in the city centre.

Roughan MacNamara from Focus Ireland says banks and financial institutions are repossessing buy-to-let homes and evicting the tenants at a rate of 100 a month:
