GP's covering A&E gaps at Cork University Hospital
GP's are being offered more than a 1,000 euro a night to cover emergency department gaps at Cork University Hospital. The 110 euro per hour deal was made to experienced doctors last week by management at CUH. A HSE spokesperson says the short term deals are needed to meet patient demand. Sources have told the Irish Examiner that the situation highlights the shortage of junior doctors in the service.
