Green Party says new bill means all housing on public land will be social and affordable housing

The Green Party says a bill agreed by Cabinet will mean 100% of housing built on public land will be social and affordable housing.
The party says the bill was introduced to increase the provision of public housing in Cork and Dublin.
Deputy Frances Noel Duffy says the first draft of the bill would have seen just 40% of units delivered as social or affordable,
with the other 60% going to the private market.
The Land Development Agency is working on building homes at a number of sites in the City including over 260 units on the former site of St Kevin's psychiatric hospital in Shanakiel.
