Group opposed to proposed incinerator lack confidence in An Bord Pleanala

Cork Harbour for A Safe Environment says they are not confident of a decision on a proposed incinerator

A final decision is to be made on the 27th of October.

An Bord Pleanala says this is the due date for decision on a €160 million euro facility proposed by waste management company Indavar.

CHASE says they are not hopeful of a decision, because the planning authority has already deferred the decision five times.

The group have been strongly opposed to planning for the incinerator in Cork Harbour since the first application was made in 2001.

Speaking to RedFM News CHASE Spokesperson Linda Fitzpatrick says the local community are preparing themselves for another deferral.
