Half day closures on the cards for secondary school pupils

Secondary school students could be sent home from school early as the industrial action by ASTI teachers rumbles on. Half day closures are looking more likely now in order to facilitate parent teacher meetings. 17 thousand teachers are refusing to carry out any work outside of teaching hours as part of their rejection of the Haddington Road agreement. General Secretary of the ASTI, Pat King has moved to assure parents that closures won't be extensive:
