Health Minister Warns About Possible Surge In Aussie Flu

The Health Minister's being warned about a possible surge in the number of people being admitted to hospital with the 'Aussie Flu'.

It follows HSE confirmation of a spike in the number of patients with the H3N2 strain.

Fianna Fáil's Billy Kelleher says warnings about the severity of this flu were issued months ago and now it appears the strain is taking hold here, with 73 people hospitalised so far this winter.

The HSE has also issued a reminder to people that you can still get the flu vaccine.
