Heavy Rain And Wind Is Sweeping Across The City And County This Afternoon

Met Eireann has issued a nationwide status yellow rain warning
The country can expect accumulations of up to to 40 millimetres of rain.
Gardaí are advising motorists that there is a danger of excess surface water and spot flooding on roads across Cork and are urging caution.
Meanwhile, emergency services are responding to a traffic incident at Cork street, Macroom.
Motorists can expect some delays.
Caution is also needed at the Bishopstown road roundabout at Leslies Cross due to flooding.
Gardaí are also advising that the Council are dealing with flooding on the Tower road.
Motorists are also being advised that a tree is partially blocking the road on the Carrigaline to Crosshaven road R612 at Myrtleville Hill.
A status yellow wind warning has been issued for Munster with gusts of up to 110 kilometres per hour with stronger winds in exposed coastal areas and on higher ground
Met Eireann's Matthew Martin says we can expect a day of wintry conditions.
