High Rise Apartment Blocks Could Be On The Way

The Housing Minister is set to review urban height limits
Minister Eoghan Murphy is also considering communal living apartment blocks for young professionals, that would be available at reasonable rents.
The lack of quality, affordable accommodation in Cork has been raised several times over the last 2 years with firms such as Apple and Voxpro voicing their concerns about lack of supply in the rental market..
The Minister wants to bring down the cost of building apartments, possibly by reducing the need for car parking spaces.
President of the Irish Planning Institute Deirdre Fallon says whatever is to be done needs to be well thought out.
