HIQA Received Complaints Of Financial, Verbal And Physical Abuse In Nursing Homes Last Year

The health authority was also notified of claims of very poor hygiene conditions, with strong smells of urine and filthy bed-clothes.
In total, the regulator got more than 700 complaints in 2019, according to details released under the Freedom of Information Act.
The HSE says it takes very seriously all concerns of abuse and these allegations are investigated.
