Historic day at Cork Airport as the first direct flight to the U.S takes off

The first transatlantic from Cork Airport took off at 16.51pm today with 154 passengers bound for Boston Providence.
It marked a major milestone for both the airport and the wider region as it's the first time in the airport's 56-year history that a direct service to the U.S has been launched.
