Home Sweet Home Cork takes inspiration from Dublin counterpart

A new group calling themselves Home Sweet Home Cork say they have been inspired by their Dublin counterparts.

Activists held a protest outside the City Hall this morning, in solidarity with the occupiers of Apollo House - who have been ordered to vacate the NAMA owned building.

Their application for a one week extension was refused by Mr. Justice Gilligan who said this matter was one for the Government, and was a simple law case of illegal trespass.

Meanwhile the occupiers of Apollo House said they were not going anywhere, as assurances by Minister for Housing Simon Coveney for the provision of safe, secure and suitable alternatives had not been met.

Speaking on the Neil Prendeville Show on Cork's RedFM Home Sweet Home Cork Activist Rachel O'Sullivan says this morning's protest aimed to raise awareness of the national problem of homelessness:
