Homecoming details for Cork Senior Hurlers
People are being encouraged to come out in support of the Cork Senior Hurling Team following their All-Ireland final game this weekend. Cork City Council has confirmed plans for the team's homecoming on Sunday. The official welcome for the Cork Hurlers will take place on a stage on South Mall, at its junction with Parnell Place. An entertainment programme for the evening will begin at 5.15p.m and will continue until the arrival of the team which is expected around 6.00p.m. Major diversions will be in place from 4.00p.m. to 9.30p.m. to facilitate the homecoming with all city centre routes affected. Lapps Quay will be closed at 12 noon while Northbound lanes on Parnell Bridge will close at 1.00pm. From 4pm on Saturday - there will be no parking on Parnell Place, on the South Mall from Pembroke Street to Parnell Place; and Lapps Quay. Full traffic details can be found on www.corkcity.ie
