Homelessness In Cork Is Continuing To Accelerate

Cork Simon's annual report for 2017 shows the long term homeless figure in the city has increased by 10%
An average of 19 people slept rough every night in the city over the past year and those homeless aren't the only ones relying on the charity.
A third of the 855 people who availed of the soup run service were living in private rented accommodation.
Speaking to RedFM News the charity’s director, Dermot Kavanagh says the 'Rebuilding Ireland' plan which was launched two years ago needs to be revisited as the housing situation is deteriorating
