Hopes Apple jobs will keep graduates in Cork
The comments come on foot of one of the biggest jobs announcements since the economic downtown.
It's hoped that Apple's new jobs announcement will encourage graduates to stay Leeside.
The comments come as the company's CEO Tim Cook jetted into Cork yesterday afternoon to officially make the announcement at its European Headquarters in Hollyhill.
The additional posts will see the company's workforce increase to 6,000 and it's being reported today that a further increase of up to 8,000 could be in the pipeline in the coming years.
Tim Cook also said that operations Leeside will be not be affected by the outcome of an investigation into its tax affairs in Ireland.
There has been a broad welcome Leeside to the jobs announcement and Head of Business and Humanities at CIT, Gerard O'Donovan told RedFM News, that it brings new opportunities for graduates.
