Hopes Cork's ICT Sector Will Be Driving Force For Economic Growth In Next 20 Years
Cork is expected to be the fastest growing region under the Ireland 2040 plan
Over 300 ICT related companies are located Leeside and it's expected the tech sector will play a key role in achieving this goal.
In the last 5 years employment in Cork’s Tech Sector has risen substantially, making it the largest source of foreign direct investment in the region.
29,000 people are now employed in ICT related companies Leeside and to recognise the best in the ICT community the IT@Cork Leaders Awards are being launched today.
It comes after BioMarin launched a new €40 million project at its Shanbally facility and speaking to RedFM News Tánaiste Simon Coveney says the investment is testament to Cork's profile both at home and abroad:
