Hopes current economic momentum can be built on Leeside

A new tourism strategy was launched in Cork today.

Cork's position as the only county on both the Wild Atlantic Way and the Ancient East trail is set to be fully exploited as part of a new tourism strategy launched Leeside today.

The collective strategy aimed at growing tourism in Cork will primarily target the U.S.A, the UK, France and Germany.

The five year project aims to inject 27% extra revenue into the Cork economy and build on some of the county's strongest assets including Fota Island, Midleton Distillery, West Cork and Ballymaloe.

Speaking to Cork's RedFM President of Cork Business Association Claire Nash says the aim of the initiative is to build on the current momentum being witnessed by Cork traders.
