Hopes for works to start on Dunkettle interchange

It's hoped the upgrade of the Dunkettle interchange and the N28 will progress as soon as possible to facilitate expansion in the area. The €100m upgrade at the Dunkettle interchange was given the green light by An Bord Pleanála earlier this year to alleviate the level of congestion at the junction where 90,000 movements are recorded daily. The upgrade is expected to be one the elements of the Port of Cork's expansion plans which will be taken into consideration at an oral hearing by An Bord Pleanála currently taking place in the city. Speaking to RedFM News Cork's Simon Coveney says road infrastructure in this area has to be a priority: Click PLAY to hear audio
