Hopes power will be restored Leeside by this evening
The ESB say some fault locations are proving difficult to reach due to flooding.
Almost 1,400 homes and businesses across the city and county are still without power this morning as a result of Storm Frank.
Some of the worst affected areas include Ballymartle, Riverstick, Bandon, Midleton and Whitegate.
ESB Networks say they have drafted in crews from Limerick, Ennis, Roscrea and Tralee to assist with their restoration plan and it's hoped supply will be restored to all customers by this evening.
Some fault locations are proving difficult to reach due to flooding and people are being advised never to go near or touch fallen electricity lines as they are live.
Communications Manager with ESB Networks Bernadie Maloney, says a major fault in the network has occurred in Fermoy this morning.
