Housing Minister Admits The Target For Newly Built Social Housing Is Below What He Hoped

The latest Rebuilding Ireland figures show the Government missed its target for new builds by 4% last year
The latest Rebuilding Ireland figures show the Government missed its target for new builds by 4 per cent last year with just over 4,250 new homes built in 2018.
The news comes as Threshold say there are less than 250 properties up for rent in the City and County, leading to concerns that some families risk becoming homeless after being evicted.
The housing charity are calling on the government to act on legislation passed to provide better protection for renters, which they say will provide a level playing field for all prospective tenants.
Speaking to RedFM News, Edel Conlon from Threshold in Cork says some landlords are taking advantage of the lack of regulation
