Housing Minister Denies That A Deal Was Done With Junior Minister Catherine Byrne

His remarks comes after a motion of no confidence in him was defeated last night



The Housing Minister has denied that a deal was done with Junior Minister Catherine Byrne to get her to back him in a motion of no confidence last night.

Sinn Fein tabled the motion which prompted a heated debate in the Dail.

Deputy Byrne had previously said she would abstain from voting over an objection to a housing development in her constituency.

But speaking earlier, Minister Murphy says no deal was done, and once again described the Sinn Fein motion as a political stunt:
