Housing Minister rules out tax rebate for first time buyers

The Housing Minister says there'll be no extension of plans to offer a tax rebate to first-time buyers of new homes.

Cork's Simon Coveney has been coming under increasing pressure to offer the relief to first-time buyers of all homes, not just new houses. 

A rift between him and the Finance Minister over the issue has been reported as it's understood Michael Noonan has concerns around the limitations of the plans.

However speaking to RedFM News Minister Coveney says there's no rift and the plans are designed to avoid the mistakes of the past:
