Housing Minister says Government is aware of importance of Cork Limerick motorway

The Housing Minister says the government is aware of the importance of building a motorway between Cork and Limerick and all options are being explored.

Simon Coveney previously indicated that the private sector may help finance the project which is expected will cost in the region of €1 billion euro. 

Repeated calls have been made for the motorway to be built and pressure is mounting on the government in the wake of a recent blueprint mapped out for Cork which forecast a population increase of over 300,000.

Speaking to RedFM News Minsiter Simon Coveney says he understands the importance of improving infrastructure Leeside to allow it to compete with Dublin but the project needs a great deal of finance:
