HSE addresses issues from former South East foster home

The Health Service Executive has reassured those affected by shortcomings at a former foster home in the south east that it has taken action to rectify problems.

In a statement issued last night, the HSE said it has improved any deficiencies in childcare and disability services that were identified in a report by senior counsel Conor Dignam.

The Executive has again apologised to Grace - the young woman at the centre of concerns about the home - for the poor care received at the hands of the foster family.

The HSE said it had not waited for the publication of the report to act upon its recommendations.
