HSE must address nurses pay in order to tackle the overcrowding crisis Leeside

That's according to the INMO who say according to recent figures, Irish nurses in the US can earn an average of €63,000, compared to €30,685 at home

It comes as Cork University Hospital is the most overcrowded in the country today, with 27 people in need of a bed.

Earlier this year the nurses union voted to accept a number of HSE proposals which included increasing staff numbers, boosting college places and offering incentives for nurses to return home.

Speaking to RedFM News the INMO's Mary Rose Carroll says the HSE will not win the recruitment battle against other countries unless staff here are paid more.
