HSE say Cork University Hospital Helipad is in the pipeline

Cork University Hospital will have a fully operational Helipad by December 2017.
Thats according to the HSE who have confirmed that €1.8 million has been made available for the construction of the on site helipad.
Talks are said to be at a progressed stage between the HSE, Irish Aviation Authority, CUH and the Emergency Aero-Medical Service to ensure the planned development is carried out in accordance with current aviation standards.
A suitable site has been identfied at the North Eastern Corner of the Hospital Campus, and it's hoped construction would begin in early 2017.
Concerns had been raised at the lack of such a facility following an incident in West Cork where three young children had to be airlifted to the hospital with severe burns.
