HSE To Hire A Second Needle Exchange Worker For Cork City
It comes as residents in Meelick Park, Ballyvolane report drug paraphernalia being left in public areas of their estate
In the latest incident, a young girl found a syringe wrapped in tinfoil outside her grandparents house in Meelick Park.
The HSE are currently exploring the idea of introducing supervised injecting centres in the City Centre which they say are proven to reduce the amount of drug paraphernalia discarded in public areas.
Speaking to RedFM News, the manager of the HSE addiction services in Cork and Kerry David Lane says the centres are beneficial to both the public and drug users.
