Husband of right to die campaigner to speak about medicinal cannabis in Cork

The husband of right to die campaigner Marie Fleming is in Cork tonight to discuss the benefits of using medicinal cannabis oil.
It follows the high profile campaign of North Cork Mum Vera Twomey who has been lobbying for legislation to allow her six-year-old daughter Ava who suffers from a rare form of epilepsy to avail of the oil which she says helps reduce her seizures.
The Dáil passed a bill the medicinal cannabis unopposed last week however The Health Minister Simon Harris says he'll make amendments at committee stage in the new year, as he has some concerns around the proposed legislation.
Tom Curran is to address a public meeting set up by the People Before Profit party at the Maldron Hotel in Cork tonight
Speaking on the Neil Prendeville Show on Cork's RedFM Tom says it's not about legalising cannabis, it's about it being made available in certain medical circumstances:
