Husband Of Woman Who Died From Cervical Cancer Hopes Others Affected By Scandal Won't Have To Face High Court

A Cork man whose wife lost her life to cervical cancer after her smear test were misread says he hopes that no other women affected by the scandal will have to face a High Court battle.
It's after the judge who was given the task of finding alternative ways of dealing with cancer claims, recommended setting up private hearings.
Justice Charles Meenan suggested that a Tribunal would be less formal than a court process.
The 221 Plus CervicalCheck Patient Support Group - which was launched by Cork man Stephen Teap - have issued a cautious welcome to the publication of the report.
Speaking to RedFM News Stephen says providing the element of privacy for those affected is a form of protection for those already hurt by the cervical check scandal:
