IBEC Urges Government To Ensure Event's Centre Is Completed

"Just get it done"
That's the message from IBEC with regard to Cork's Event Centre at the launch of its new report into the impact of Brexit on local business in the city today.
The multi - functional centre at the Beamish and Crawford site on South Main Street was due to open in 2018, however BAM contractors announced that an extra €12 million in public funding would be needed to complete the venue.
Internal design changes are being blamed for the increased cost, and venue operators Live Nation say they must increase the size of the venue by 3,500 sq metres to make it commercially viable.
Speaking to RedFM News IBEC CEO Danny McCoy says many business leaders are anxious the project is completed:
