IBTS issues urgent appeal as blood stocks are running low

An appeal has been issued for blood donation as the Irish Blood Transfusion Service say stocks are running low this week.
The IBTS says while blood donation campaigns are effective their success rate is short lived.
Concerns has now been expressed that stocks are low this week in the run up to Christmas - which is usually one of the most difficult times of year for the IBTS as people are often unable to donate blood.
A mobile clinic is taking place in Ovens today between 5 o'clock and 8.30pm in Éire Óg GAA club.
Speaking to RedFM News Donor Recruitment Manager at the IBTS Anne O'Donovan says if they can't get stock levels right in the run up to Christmas they'll be playing catch up for the rest of the month:
