Incentives Sought To Support Douglas In The Wake Of The Fire Which Has Shut Douglas Village Shopping Centre

Suspension of clamping activities, reduced rates and public transport incentives are among the measures being called for
Job losses, business closures, and a decrease in footfall have sparked concerns for the future of the town and the remaining businesses still operating there after it was confirmed that the shopping centre won't reopen until Summer of next year.
It's understood the City Council are examining the potential of other available retails units to accommodate traders.

Meanwhile Labour's Peter Horgan says clamping should be immediately suspended in Douglas, and traders should receive reductions in rates:
