Increase in overweight children Leeside

The Children's Minister Katherine Zappone say she would like to see sugar tax included in next years budget in a bid to tackle Ireland's obesity crisis
Hard decisions will have to be taken to tackle Ireland's obesity crisis.
That's according to a Cork doctor who says an increasing number of his patients Leeside are overweight children.
It has not yet been decided whether or not a sugar tax will be included in next year's budget however the Children's Minister has indicated she would like to see it introduced as soon as possible.
A ten-year strategy to tackle obesity was launched earlier this week and speaking to RedFM News Blackpool based GP, Dr John Sheehan says the strategy is just the first step in a long road.
