Indaver Hits Back At Group Campaigning Against Ringaskiddy Incinerator
Indaver's John Ahern says Ireland needs to start managing its own waste
Indaver says a group campaigning against its planned incinerator in Ringaskiddy has misunderstood a recent European report.
The waste management company say the European Commission's document echos the proximity principle that waste should be managed close to where it's produced.
However the Cork Harbour Alliance for a Safe Environment says the report outlines the phasing-out of public money for such facilities and is another blow to incineration.
Speaking to RedFM News Managing Director of Indaver John Ahern says Ireland needs to start managing its own waste as per the proximity principle in the report and public money isn't an issue:
