Injunction granted against protests on Cork Farm

Injunctions against businessman Jerry Beades and the New Land League group, which has been protesting over the sale of cattle belonging to a Cork farmer, have been granted by the High Court.

A second herd auction of 500 of the cattle is due to get underway on Monday morning on the Kinston farm in Nhoval after some of the bidders in the first auction failed to pay.

However this time only those who have provided cleared funds will be granted bidder numbers or access to the farm during the herd auction.

Cork County Sheriff Sinead McNamara sought and was granted an injunction preventing anyone interfering with the sale of the animals, threatening or intimidation of those involved, including bidders, and interference with collection of cattle from the farm.
