INMO says nurses are at breaking point

It comes following the overcrowding crisis at Cork University Hospital

There is no end in sight for the overcrowding crisis at Cork University Hospital.

That's according to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation who say nurses are at breaking point.

The CUH experienced severe overcrowding this week, with the INMO trolley watch showing an average of 40 patients receiving treatment on trolleys in the Emergency Department.

Hospital management issued a request to the public not to present at the ED department if at all possible, due to long delays experienced by patients awaiting admission.

Speaking to RedFM News the INMO's Mary Rose Carroll says the overcrowding problem is two fold.
