Inquest into Charleville murder-suicide concludes
21-year-old Jonathan O'Driscoll and his nine-year-old twin brothers Thomas and Patrick O'Driscoll died in the incident.
“Words can't describe the horror your family had to face”.
Those were the words of Coroner Dr Michael Kennedy to Helen O'Driscoll at the inquest into the deaths of her three sons who lost their lives in a murder suicide incident in Charleville last year.
Nine-year-old twin brothers Thomas and Patrick O'Driscoll were stabbed to death by their older brother Jonathan who later died by suicide in the nearby town of Buttevant.
The jury at the inquest returned a verdict of death by suicide for 21-year-old Jonathan.
They returned an open verdict for the twins as they were unable to return as verdict of unlawful killling for the twin brothers as they could not be sure about Jonathan's mental state at the time.
Fiona O'Donovan was at the inquest for RedFM News.
