Inquest Takes Place Into Death Of Man Shot In Macroom

An inquest has heard a 60 year old father of one bled to death after he was shot in the arm near Macroom last year.
Plant contractor Derry Coakley from Castle Street in Macroom died from haemorrhage and shock when he was shot at Raleigh North on October 23rd.
The South Cork Coroner's Court heard that Gardai responded to a call at 11:30pm saying a man had been shot and that Derry Coakley died shortly before ambulance personnel arrived at the scene.
66 year old Gerard Lynch of Curraheen, Raleigh North, Macroom was charged with murder and is due to appear at Macroom District Court again on April 17th
Coroner for South Cork Frank O'Connell adjourned the inquest until the first quarter of 2020
