Internal design Plans For The Long Stalled Cork Events Centre Could Take Up To 8 Months To Complete

The project has seen multiple setbacks in recent years

The Echo reports that ground may not be broken at the site of the former Beamish and Crawford brewery until the detailed plans have been drawn up.

The government announced a once-off €50 million payment for the development on Friday following a series of delays.

It's expected the centre will create around 585 direct and indirect jobs and will host around 420,000 people every year.
