Investigation Into Drug Overdose Death At Indiependence Festival Focus On South Tipperary Drug Dealers

Jack Downey died at CUH on Monday after he took a substance believed to be ecstacy at the festival in Mitchelstown on Friday.
It's believed Jack and his friends sourced the drug in South Tipperary before travelling to Mitchelstown.
Jack was rushed to CUH after complaining of feeling unwell at the festival and was put on a ventilator and remained in a coma over the weekend.
The result of a toxicology test is expected to take a number of weeks, however Gardaí expect it will confirm the CIT student died from taking ecstasy which in turn caused kidney failure.
