Ireland Experiencing Mini-Heatwave This Weekend With Temperatures Set To Climb Into Mid-20s Tomorrow

Sunday is expected to be the hottest day of the year so far, with the east and south of the country seeing the best of the sunshine
Thousands of people are flocking to beaches and lakes to cool down.
Mary Gurrie of the Enviornmental Protection Agency says our water quality is improving all the time:
"Actually 96% of them now meet the minimum standard, which is sufficient. And actually 111 of the 148 are in excellent water quality. So that's an improvement, even on last year - another four beaches. And local authorities are also continuing to add new beaches, so there were two new beaches added last year and there's two new beaches added this year."
