IRHA calls for support for members in Calais

They say the situation has not improved within the last year.

The Irish Road Haulage Association has the described the situation facing Irish truck drivers in the Port of Calais as 'out of control'. 

The IRHA claim that many drivers are being assaulted by migrants desperate to cross the channel tunnel to the UK. 

They say trucks are being damaged with stones and timber objects and windows smashed and there has been no improvement drivers situation in the last 12 months ago. 

Speaking to RedFM News, President of the IRHA Verona Murphy says drivers need to be protected.
