Irish Blood Transfusion Service are appealing for extra donors across Cork

They're urging donors to attend clinics ahead of the August Bank Holiday Weekend

The service says the number of donations typically drop during the summertime when children are off school, because the routines of regular donors are disrupted.

The IBTS are asking the public to make a special effort to visit a clinic, particularly those donors whose bood is used for the paediatric pack for Cork's neo natal units.

Speaking to RedFM News IBTS Donor Recruitment Manager Maureen Gill says they are sending reminders to all who have donated previously by txt, but always welcome new donors.
