The Irish Cancer Society says there's been an increase in non-melanoma skin cancer in particular among younger age groups.
Over 10,000 new cases of skin cancer are diagnosed in Ireland every year and the charity says that figure is on the rise.
Speaking to RedFM News Naomi Fitzgibbon of the Irish Cancer Society says there are certain steps people can take to avoid getting burned.
