Irish Community Air Ambulance takes delivery of new helicopter

Cork based Irish Community Air Ambulance has taken delivery of a new helicopter which it's hoped will allow the service to extend its range.
The helicopter can travel up to 300 kilometres per hour and is capable of flying from Mizen to Malin Head in just over 90 minutes.
The charity- which has responded to almost 1,0000 incidents in two years- says the new helicopter will enter service from today.
Speaking to RedFM News, CEO of Irish Community Air Ambulance Micheál Sheridan says the service continues to go from strength to strength
"It's a turning point I think. We're nearly 24 months in operation, we're very close to our 1,000th tasking by the National Ambulance Service.
"We have a brand new helicopter that will allow us to go further and faster.
"What it means for us as well is in terms of the colours and the brightness, people will see it and start to identify with us and hopefully start to support us."
Today is a big day for us as we officially launched our new Charity Funded Air Ambulance here at the base. While taking press photos to share with you #HeliMed92 with @AmbulanceNAS crew dropped everything as they received a tasking in Munster. We are always ready for the call. pic.twitter.com/O5AI0cJdbB
