Irish Economy Could Face "Sizeable And Immediate Shock" If No-Deal Brexit Happens

The Irish economy could face an 'sizeable and immediate shock' if the UK crashes out of the EU without a deal at the end of October.

That's one of the findings of the latest economic outlook by the ESRI, which says the situation in the UK makes the Budget choice 'particularly complex.'

It also found the Irish economy looks set to perform 'robustly' in 2019, with GDP set to increase by just under 5 percent.

However, Conor O'Toole, senior researcher with the ESRI, says any research they do into the impact of a no-deal scenario does not give a positive outlook:
