Over 8,500 people are taking part in this year's Irish Examiner Cork City Marathon today
Now in its 12th year, the marathon route is very similar to that run last year, although the half marathon will set off from Albert Road this morning at 10.30am and not Monahan Rd, which has been the traditional start point.
Marathon organisers are reminding listeners that there will be traffic restrictions in place around the event and a contra flow is in operation in the Jack Lynch Tunnel
