Irish Fiscal Advisory Council suggests linking pension age to life expectancy

Pensions and health costs will increase substantially in 2050 and put the State in debt if policy changes aren’t made.

That’s according to the Fiscal Advisory Council which is suggesting linking the pension age to life expectancy.

The group say Covid-19, climate change and an ageing population means the Government needs to plan for the future.
