Irish Naval ship sold for a song at auction
The LE Aisling has been sold at auction for €110,000.
Dutch buyer Vic Vander Camp was one of only two bidders for the 36 year old naval vessel at the Carrigaline Court today.
Mr Vander Camp said he was unsure of what use the ship would be put to in the future.
Auctioneer Dominic Daly said he was disappointed with the price obtained for the LE Aisling, but that this reflected the current depressed market in offshore vessels...
Mr Daly had previously sold the LE Eimear, the sister ship to the LE Aisling for €320,000.
