Irish Rower dies in Poland

A woman from Limerick has died in Poland, as a result of injuries sustained in a fall.

Ailish Sheehan was in Poznan, where she was competing in the World University Championships for Rowing.

The 23-year-old was seriously injured following a fall on Sunday.

Ms Sheehan was representing the University of London Boat Club, where she was a student.

Rowing Ireland says it's deeply saddened by the news of Ailish's passing, and has extended its condolences to her family and friends.
